We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, as you may have noticed in previous visits to our office. Our infection control processes are in place so that when you receive care, it is both safe and comfortable. We follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We monitor the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
We plan to begin seeing patients on July 1, 2020. Due to the new recommendations, appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients and to give our staff time for new disinfecting protocols. This may mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointments or that your existing appointment time needs to be adjusted slightly. Our staff is beginning to call patients to make the necessary changes to the schedule. We ask for your continued patience and support!
Anyone with a future appointment who wishes to postpone to a later date, please call our office as soon as possible and leave a message on our voicemail box. If you have an appointment that was cancelled during the closure, we ask that you DO NOT call the office unless you are having a dental emergency. We will be contacting you very soon to reschedule your appointment.
You will see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. Some of these changes are as follows:
● We ask that you bring/wear a mask to your appointment and keep the mask on at all times when you are here except when you are receiving treatment.
● Please bring a pen with you, also bring a sweater or jacket since the temperature
will be set low for the comfort of our staff wearing new personal protective equipment.
● Do not bring a lot of personal items (drinks, bags, purses, etc) into the office and please use the bathroom before you come.
● Only the patient may come into the office. Exceptions will be made for children under the age of 10 and those requiring assistance with transport/transfer/language.
● When you arrive at the office, in order to minimize the number of patients in the reception area, we ask that you call 434-220-4803 and we will tell you when to come to the door.
● Your temperature will be taken and you will be asked to sign a consent for treatment form and answer screening questions.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office at 434-977-7080.
Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.
Sincerely,
Drs. Gilrain, Brooks and Team
